It was a day of celebration as the Hooverwood family joined together to applaud Director of Nursing, Pat Russell, for her 42 years of service and dedication.

Over the last four decades, Pat has made an impact in the lives of not only residents here at Hooverwood, but to thousands of nursing students, licensed nurses, and certified nursing assistants.

Pat has been the glue that has held us all together. She has been a mother, a friend, a confidant, and someone we have always been able to depend on. During the harsh winter snowstorms, Pat would “move-in” here at Hooverwood, sleeping on a couch at night to make sure our residents’ needs were always met and everyone was taken care of.

She is someone who not only has helped us on personal levels but also has been the driving force behind policy changes, new procedures, and standards of excellence that we will continue to uphold.

We would like to say a very big congratulations to Pat for 42 amazing years. We wish her the best of health, happiness, and fun as she enjoys the golden years with her husband, children, and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by the Indianapolis nursing community as well as everyone here in the Hooverwood family.

Thank you, Pat!
