Making Hooverwood An Even Better Home

At Hooverwood, when we think of home, we think of comfort, stability, and togetherness. But most of all, we think of a place filled with love and care.

For over a century, we’ve brought these values into our operations, and continue to do so each and every day. This dedication to our residents is why we’ve launched our Capital Campaign.

This organized effort will help us make necessary improvements to the facility to ensure Hooverwood continues to be a home for centuries to come.

“We are preparing for Hooverwood’s future. We are preparing for the future needs of our community,” says Executive Director, Marc Penner. “Although Hooverwood is known for its outstanding quality of care and home-like environment, and the longevity of our staff, we recognize that our building that was built in 1970 is in great need of modernization.”

To give Hooverwood a much-needed makeover, we need your help. Funds from the Campaign, given by generous donors, will be used to make state-of-the-art additions and updates, including 132 private rooms, 24 semi-private rooms, 102 new private showers, 24-36 assisted-living apartments, and nursing neighborhoods.

“We’re excited to be able to provide private rooms, which is becoming a standard in the market, and residents are excited about having private showers in their rooms as opposed to bathing or showering down the hall in the bathing room,” Penner says. “It’s all a welcome change.”

So far, we’ve raised $13.1 million dollars to use toward these restorations—with another $2.8 million identified and $4.1 needed—plus an additional $4.5 – $7.5 million that will be needed for the assisted-living quarters.

We are immensely grateful to those who have donated to the Capital Campaign. Through this support, Hooverwood’s legacy will be preserved and the dignity and well-being of all residents, current and future, will be maintained.

“Our project is set to deinstitutionalize the building and make it more home-like,” Penner says. “I think everyone is excited to get started and make dreams become a reality.”
